About Casa de los Alisos

This Spanish hacienda style home is located in the palm tree lined, family-oriented neighborhood of Lower Hermosa, a community of La Jolla. This home has 6 bedrooms, 5½ baths, a 2 car garage and breathtaking whitewater ocean views.

Upon arriving at the home, a wrought-iron gate with security code allows you private access to the home and a front garden with a kids tree-house and swing located next to the heated pool. A beautiful central patio with hand-laid bricks welcomes guests into the home displaying hardwood floors and wood stained ceilings. The fully equipped kitchen includes top brand appliances, sub-zero refrigerator, marble countertops, and large island with seating for 6 people in addition to a round table for 6 perfect for an informal and cozy family gathering. You can also enjoy the formal dining-room with an antique table for 6-8 people. For a relaxing evening you can read a book by the cozy fireplace or watch TV in the living-room. The kids can play games and watch TV in the family room.

The master-suite is on the top level, equipped with a wood-burning fireplace and balcony that overviews the central Spanish style courtyard and back patio, perfect to enjoy the breathtaking southwestern coastal sunsets of La Jolla and San Diego. Off the master suite balcony and just under the canopy of a 75 year-old ivy, rests the hot tub with a 180 degree whitewater ocean view. From the guest-room with its own fireplace to the barbecue grill, home-office, wireless internet, and cable, this home offers you the comforts of home and the luxuries of a vacation all within walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars, and small coffee shops.

There are not words to describe the wonderful feeling you will be filled with as you experience for yourself all of what La Jolla has to offer. From the cozy Village, to the beaches and outdoor activities, to the theatre and culture, La Jolla really has it all. Of course one must make time to enjoy the acclaimed restaurants and delightful shops that line the streets.

Beyond the fact that La Jolla is often thought of as the Beverly Hills of San Diego, it is a wonderful vacation spot for families, couples and friends. The adventurous will find plenty to excite them down in The Shores where dive gear, kayak tours and surfing lessons are available from the shops on Avenida De La Playa, and at the Torrey Pines Gliderport (858-452-9858) where you can fly tandem (with a professional pilot) or solo (with the appropriate credentials). Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at Torrey Pines (619-570-1234) or watch their favorite pros in action during the annual PGA stop in February, while tennis players will like the competitive scene at the La Jolla Recreation Center on Draper Street (858-454-4434).

If you decide to venture out of The Shores there are a number of places to visit. With the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, Legoland, Balboa Park, Scripps Aquarium, and beautiful Carlsbad Flower Fields nearby your options are endless. You might decide to take a day trip down to Mexico as it is only 60 minutes to the south or stay a bit closer to your new ‘home’ and explore Coronado Island and dine at the renowned Hotel Del. For those looking for the nightlife scene we recommend heading to Jack’s or Jose’s in downtown La Jolla or to Pacific Beach or downtown San Diego as this beach town is typically asleep by midnight resting up for another long day at the beach ahead.
